Celebrating our National Bard
Not a traditional Burns Supper but a variation on a theme with proceeds going to charity.
At the Corbie we have always had a hankering to do a Burns Night and with Corbie NextDoor open there was now space to do it.
An Evening with Burns
There was no long speeches only some of the best known items including:-
Address Tae the Haggis
Tam o’ Shanter
Holy Willie’s Prayer
And a few toasts to the Lad’s & Lassies
There was the usual and traditional 3 course meal of
Cockaleekie Soup
Haggis, Tatties & Pickle o’ Mince
Cranachan
Music and entertainment provided by local group Io’laire. With Mary Gilfillan singing some of Burns’ most loved melodies and songs.
Places were limited to 80 with tickets at only £15.00. £5 of ticket price was donated to Cancer Research UK with a raffle helping to boost funds.
