Another Successful Whisky Tasting

Ian Stewart, customer of Corbie Inn wins rare bottle of Bruichladdich

Special Whisky Raffle PrizeThe whisky tasting on Thursday November 27 proved to be another great night in more ways than one!

There were more fascinating insights into the history of our national drink together with the usual 'good' spirits enjoyed by all those lucky enough to get one of the limited places.

(Be sure to book up early for the next one!)

A Special Whisky Prize Raffle

Alan Mitchell of Straight From the Cask, who hosts the tastings, donates a signed bottle of whisky to Charity every year and has raised over £2000 to date.

It was won in a “100” names draw with all proceeds of £500 going to Cancer Research UK.

The bottle features Mary Macgregor, the shop manager at Bruichladdich Distillery, who personally signed the bottle for Alan on a recent visit to Islay.

Mary is raising money for Cancer Research this year and she will get a further £500 next week thanks to everyone's generosity.

Surprise, surprise

The lucky winner, Ian Stewart, got a surprise on Saturday night when Alan Mitchell turned up unexpectedly at the pub with his prize.

It turned out to be both an enjoyable and lucky Thursday evening for Ian.

He was presented with the bottle by local Linlithgow man, Alan Mitchell. Alan runs Straight From The Cask, a business doing all things whisky.

Congratulation to Ian! And, by the look on his face he looks like he is going to be enjoying his Christmas even more this year!
