Alan Mitchell, whisky embassador from Straight from the Cask, has run some of our most successful tasting events.

Mini Ale & Music Festival - July 15

As you will be aware, BRAAS (Bo'ness Real Ale Appreciation Society) run their festival in September/October each year. This year it will on the last weekend in September.

So, to fill the gap between now and then for all you beer lovers, the Corbie has decided to run a mini-fest on Saturday 15 July, until the beer runs out!

Helping bring back memories

Pub turning into cinema to help memory

The Corbie Inn is turning into a cinema to help bring back memories for older people and dementia sufferers using classic film footage. 

Revellers may not remember everything after a session in the pub. But, the Corbie Inn is aiming to ensure visitors on Wednesday will. 

Screen Memories is an initiative using old movies featuring legends like Humphrey Bogart and Fred & Ginger

The Corbie already hosts monthly meetings of the Alzheimer Scotland Football Memories programme.

Charity Burns Night 2017

Join us for another Celebration of our National Bard

Robert Burns

Not a traditional Burns Supper but a variation on a theme with proceeds going to charity. 

After last year's success another opportunity to enjoy Burns in a less official format - no long speeches!

An Evening with Burns

There will be no long speeches only some of the best-known items including:- 

  • Address Tae the Haggis
  • Tam o' Shanter
  • Holy Willie's Prayer
  • And a few toasts to the Lad's & Lassies

Eighth Big Roman Week starts on 17 September 2016

The 2016 Big Roman Week kicks off on Saturday 17 September and runs until Sunday 25 September.

Roman Week coincides with the birthday of Emperor Antoninus Pius who was born 19 September 86 AD. 

Emperor Antoninus Pius was responsible for the construction of the Antonine Wall. It runs from Bo’ness in the east to Old Kilpatrick in the west. 

The turf-based Antonine Wall was awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site status in 2008.

This year there will be events across the Falkirk area in Bonnybridge, Polmont, Larbert, Falkirk, Grangemouth and Bo’ness.

As in previous years during Big Roman Week, an Italian Night Meal has been organised in the Corbie Inn.

Ever wondered what it’s like to climb untouched rock in one of the most remote parts of the world.

Cathy's talk will give you an idea with amazing pictures and video clips of one of the most beautiful and untouched areas of the planet - Angmagssalik, East Greenland.

After the success of the first Folk Sunday on 24 April 2016 more are planned.

The Lazy Boys of Banknock

The next folk event planned is on Sunday 22 May starting at 6.30pm. At the first event two of the Lazy Boys took part in the jam session, joining in for a great afternoon of folk music.

On 22 May the Lazy Boys will be in concert performing their own brand of folk.

Having played the Corbie before, they proved to be highly entertaining and sure to be again.

And, best of all, it's free, again! So, don't miss it!
