Diesel Day and Real Ale at SRPS

Enjoy a real ale on and after the Bo'ness Diesel Gala

Primarily aimed at Diesel Enthusiasts, but interesting to anyone who wants to re-live the sounds and smells of these great diesel engines of the Swinging Sixties, on the weekend of 1 & 2 October there featured locomotives from the home fleet together with a guest locomotive that had been requested.

North British shunter D2767 and 0-6-0 shunter D3558 (08443) worked a top & tail train, and 20020 appeared after its year-long loan spell at the Wensleydale Railway.

From the Sulzer engined stable there was the 26024 & 27001, and for English Electric fans the newly repainted and named 37175 W.S. Sellar was also featured.

Real ale on the train and later at the Corbie Inn

The event also featured a group sales stands and an on-train buffet serving snacks and real ale.

Although not open for this year's event at the SRPS, next year after your trip on the train you will be able to enjoy a further selection of real ales and a bite to eat at the newly opened Corbie Inn at Corbiehall just along from Kinneil Halt.

So, next year, you know you will be back, make a real effort to jump off the train for the best selection of real ales at the Corbie Inn. But, make sure the train has stopped first!
