£1,551 raised for Alzheimers Scotland Football Memories (Bo'ness)

How to go from £100 to £1,551 for charity in 6 months!

Presentation to Alzheimers Scotland Football Memories Bo'ness

It all started with a Silver Wedding Present.

A cask of real ale was bought and sold as Siver Wolf to raise money for the charity

It did - so it was decided to do it again!

After taking the Vat off, (the Vat Man doesn't raise much money for charity), the total stood at £440.

But, there was more brewing in the background!

Espre Gourmet Coffee Beer

Espre Gourmet Coffee Beer @ Bo'ness Real Ale Festival

Espre Coffee Gourmet Beer

It's a collaboration between two Bo'ness businesses to bring you an unique tasting beer.

Kinneil Brewhoose, attached to Corbie Inn, and Tapside Coffee Company have joined forces to produce a very singular ale from a well loved existing recipe with the addition of Tapside's own Espre Coffee blend.

Got to be tasted to fully appreciate it's full flavour (just like any good coffee).

Corbie Inn and Pennvael Amber support 4X4 Golf Challenge

Pennvael Amber Charity Cask AleCorbie Inn & Pennvael Amber support local golf charity challenge

Last weekend, in support of a charity golf challenge match, all the proceeds of the sale of cask of local brewery, Kinneil Brew Hoose, Pennvael Amber was donated to the Macmillan Cancer Support Charity.

Beer donated by Kinneil Brew Hoose

A cask of the real ale, Pennvael Amber, was gifted to the golf challenge with all the proceeds of sale of the beer over the bar donated to the Macmillan Cancer Support charity.

You might have missed it as the 68 pints didn't seem to take all that long to disappear but you should still have had the opportunity to donate to this worthwhile charity as there was a bucket to drop any change into available.

In fact, some non-ale drinkers did just that! And, a big thank-you to them, too.

Whisky tasting night - a success!

First whisky tasting was a great success.

The hint is in the title! The First of many whisky tastings was held on Thursday 22 March in the Corbie Inn.

It was such a success that it was designated the Inaugural Whisky Tasting and agreement made to set up a Whisky Club and hold successive meetings on a Sunday evening (watch this space and on Corbie Inn Facebook page for details).

Local enthusiast, Alan Mitchell from Linlithgow, of straight from the cask, ran the event and with his experience, knowledge and enthusiasm made the evening a great success and the reason to plan the next one.
